It's a height adjustable seatpost by Air/Oil Cartridge, which can let riders adjust the saddle height quickly and easily while riding. You don't need to carry much more tools to adjust, and just need to operate via Shifter-Style Remote Lever, that's easy enough right?
You can position your saddle height freely and easily according to the terrain you meet. Lowering the seatpost down to lower your center of gravity, and be convenient to act the technical sections in trail.
